Dear Readers,
I am delighted to introduce the first of my Navy SEAL trilogy, Forget Me Not. Believe it or not, I decided to feature SEALs as my heroes before reading a single one of Suzanne Brockmann’s Trouble Shooters series. I read The Unsung Hero (my all-time favorite book) in order to acquaint myself with the subgenre of military romance, and I was hooked! Up until then, I had written medieval romance (as Marliss Moon) and even an inspirational romance. In a Eureka! moment, I realized that writing military romance is the perfect niche for me. Not only did I grow up as a military brat but I am also the spouse of a retired Navy veteran. I shop at the commissary and work out on the base gym. I’m surrounded by alpha males with buff bodies who keep my fertile imagination seething with ideas!
Forget Me Not is a story about second chances and forgiveness. Before his capture by North Koreans, Lieutenant Gabriel Renault, codename Jaguar, believes that loving his bride too deeply will make him less of a SEAL. Through torture and deprivation, he discovers that his love for Helen is what keeps him alive. He’s determined to escape his captors and redress his shortcomings as a husband and father to his stepdaughter. One reader was so moved by the theme, she wrote, “I am now interested in having a relationship with a man again! This book gave me faith I have hidden away for years.” I hope it touches your heart in similar ways.
May the irresistible men of SEAL Team Twelve so involve you in their lives that you eagerly await In the Dark (June 2005) and Westy’s story (April 2006).
Happy reading!
